Give thought to the following questions:
What did you dream of being or still dream of being in life?
This is a question many people hear throughout life - what did you see yourself doing when you grew up. When we were children we could think of tons of things we wanted to be - right?
Have you spent any time recently considering this question? Or have you just given up on your dreams?
What did your dreams hold for you? Did you see yourself as a teacher, a business owner, an actor, a doctor, an NFL quarterback? What did you dream of or talk about as a child that you still have a longing to be or become? Or...
Were you impressed with someone famous such as - Oprah Winfrey or Warren Buffet or possibly Mother Teresa? Or your favorite teacher? Did you want to become like someone that you felt inspired by at a young age.
The great news is you can still become anyone or anything you want to become - as is said "it is never too late." Unless you let your excuses drive your life these dreams can still be accomplished.
Below are 4 quick tips to become the person of your dreams:
Tip 1 -
Study inspirational or famous people - learn about these people, how they overcame challenges, handled obstacles, met the right people, had the right mindset.
If your see yourself as a major league baseball player, learn what it took the famous players to be successful; read the books, search the internet, become an expert in the field you want to pursue or people you want to emulate.
Tip 2 -
It is important to live with passion and the desire to learn all you can learn about your subject. Find a mentor or mentors in your chosen field - talk with them, learn from them, shadow them. Begin to model their thoughts, behaviors, and actions. Notice how much time and energy they put into being at the top of their game. Notice it is a full-time job - not something they do part-time.
Tip 3 -
Begin to pursue your dreams by taking motivated action!
Strive everyday to make progress without striving for perfection. Many people put their dreams on hold until "all their ducks are in a row"; e.g., everything is perfect. If that is part of your personality, challenge yourself to move forward even before everything is perfect. The time to start is right now!
By starting today - right now - before you know it you will be either living your dream or close to living your dream. How exciting would that be for you?
Tip 4 -
Quitting is NOT an option - quitting is choosing the path of least resistance.
Do not let setbacks take you off course, do not let other peoples' opinions take you off course, and do not let your negative mind chatter take away your dreams.
Tasks that seem impossible or only impossible because you have not accomplished them yet. When you first learned to walk or ride a bike, this might have appeared as an impossible task because you had never walked or ridden a bike - right? And now you can do both without giving it any thought at all.
You have a powerful mind - a mind that will rise to the occasion - supporting anything that you desire. You are in charge of the computer of your mind. Use your mind to your advantage and conquer and live your dreams.
