Set Goals And Achieve The Impossible

Does setting goals really help? Yes, it most certainly does. One year and two months ago I set myself a goal that seemed impossible at the time. I was forty-five kilograms overweight and I was depressed. I had reached a point where I felt like I couldn't go on anymore. It was a simple choice I had to make, Change now or be miserable for the rest of my days.

My first goal was to change my attitude towards life and be more positive in whatever I was doing. This goal brought about a change in my nature and soon I was seeing life through a new set of eyes. Everything after that came easily because I chose to focus on one goal at a time. I took control of my mind and let it work for me instead of against me. Before I knew it I was twenty Kilograms lighter and still going strong. Along my journey I have faced many challenges and obstacles that seem to pop up every so often. When I saw a challenge all I did was set another small goal and soon I had overcome it.

Setting goals work but you have to stay focused on the goal itself. There are two parts to setting a goal, the first is to make it a realistic goal and the second comes from you. You have to persist to achieve it and once you have I recommend congratulating yourself before you set another.

To date I have lost an amazing forty kilograms and I am still on my journey taking it one goal at a time. So set your goals realistically and persist at it don't give up when you hit your first obstacle you have to see those obstacles as challenges. There are no words to describe the feeling you get when a year later you look back and realize how much you have achieved.

Use your mind wisely it is the most important tool at your disposal it can either help you get there or help you fail miserably. Good luck with whatever goals you set and remember to persist at it.
